Until we move away from Apple and Microsoft standing firmly behind the patent-encumbered h.264, versus Google, Opera, and Mozilla backing free, open, and royalty-free video formats like WebM, video on the web will remain more, rather than less, complicated than it was in the Adobe® Flash®-only era.
